BISHOP DR. BOTWEY URGE GHANAIANS TO VOTE THE RIGHT PEOPLE INTO GOVERNMENT IN 2016

Bishop Dr. Emmanuel Kweku Botwey, General Overseer of Christian Faith Church International (CFCI) in Takoradi has bemoaned the fact that the effects of the current energy crisis have affected the nation badly.

(General Overseer, Christian Faith Church International)

According to him, the current erratic power supply, which had prevailed in the country for over two years had made thousands of Ghanaians, particularly those in the informal sector, suffer and that industry was laying off workers.

“There is hopelessness all over the place; we should not be like the proverbial ostrich that buries its head in the sand. The truth is that things are not going on well”, he stressed.

Bishop Botwey was speaking at the opening of the 23rd Session of the General Council of the church held in Takoradi yesterday Sunday 3rd May 2015 on the theme “Moving forward with the Greater Works Agenda”.

The Bishop alleged that in Ghana today, there is naked corruption that is senseless, mindless and sickening.

He urged Ghanaians to vote for people who could fight and cause real change in the next general elections; otherwise Ghana would never see the progress the people wanted.

“Let us reject politicians whose loyalty is directed to their parties instead of the nation. All Christians must exercise their franchise and ensure that democracy remained viable and active in the nation”, he noted.

He said it was unfortunate that Christians who were in political positions seemed not to have influence on the nation’s political atmosphere adding “They allow partisan politics to negate their Christian beliefs”.

“I call on all Christians to pray fervently for Ghana and intercede that the Lord will remove any dark clouds from our nation”, he noted.

He regretted that churches and Christians had lost their focus of the main task of the church which was evangelization and discipleship of the world.

“We are also witnessing the commercialization of some churches, with so- called Ministers of God destroying the image of the Christian church with their questionable activities”, he added.

Reading the year under reviews report to the gathering, Bishop Botwey said that CFCI’s school at Effiakuma near Takoradi had seen considerable improvements under a new management and added that the church would soon implement a proposed Credit Union for members.

He added that the church had opened new branches in the Ashanti and Brong-Ahafo regions and extended its horizons of operations to other areas in the western region.

He mentioned that the church’s branch in the United States of America had moved to a new church building in Romeoville near Chicago.

“Our church in Manistee, Michigan has also moved into a new worship centre”, he added.
